Guest Post by Carol Quinn

Thank you so much Carol! It was a pleasure having you and the Ridgebacks at the estate! Delighted that Nairobi and Sheila felt right at home and enjoyed the wine! :~)

The Ridgebacks and I were invited to stay at Greystone Estate in Sonoma Valley CA with their new Social Media Manager Henie Reisinger. Congrats to Henie and thanks for letting us tag along!

It took us seven hours to drive to Kenwood from Southern California, and each time we stopped to stretch our legs, the Ridgebacks bounded out of the car, noses in the air, sniffing, excited, “Is this it? Are we here?” By the fourth stop, they stopped getting quite so excited. Maybe this our vacation? Maybe we just drive around and stop once in awhile?

But when we arrived at the beautiful gated vacation rental with 2 acres of landscaped property, a pool, and a tennis court, Nairobi and Sheila burst out of the car and took possession. Sheila checked the borders of the property, sniffing, looking for squirrels, and Nairobi ran around excitedly and then plopped down in a patch of sun to survey his new paradise.

While the Ridgebacks guarded the property, barking at anyone who came to their front door, Henie and I were squired around to wineries, fabulous dinners, and great conversations with the winemakers.

It’s amazing how quickly dogs get used to 2 acres—and a mansion. Each time we drove away to visit a winery, both dogs came to the front window to watch our departure. We’ll just wait here in the big house until you return.

Many thanks to everyone who made our stay so delightful! The Ridgebacks and I salute you!

  2. Sounds like an amazing trip! I wish I was there with you. How awesome that they allow dogs. I am sure they had a wonderful vacation as well. The picture of them on the chairs is priceless! All of the pictures I have seen from my friends who visited have made me want to go more and more. Quaint, peaceful, and wine too…. who could ask for more?

  3. Wow Carol! A wine mansion allowing dogs… BIG dogs… that’s a first.

Greystone looks like a fabulous getaway and holiday location. Henie, how far is it from an airport?

  7. In my quest to be healthy I pressured a nutritionist to help me learn more about my diet. I actually didn’t eat badly just wasn’t absorbing the nutrients that I did eat. In our working together she told me to ingest more olive oil daily. 2 Tablespoons daily and gave me a formula I wanted to pass on. Use 2 Tablespoons in a glass of grapefruit 2-3 times a week. This would help my kidneys and liver. Shortly after she advised this, I found you! I am in love with the olive oil you create. it is a lively taste which makes me love to use it more and more. Dipping bread with some herbs cures my appetite for lots of breath because the oils is so satisfying! Keep up the good work. Thanks for California Olive Oil!!
